A SERVING SUGGESTION: Serve Very Cherry on its own, chilled, or pour a little over a crisp or a brown betty.

A QUOTE: “Why, Mr. Mannering, people must have brandy and tea, and there’s none in the country but what comes this way—and then there’s short accounts, and maybe a keg or two, or a dozen pounds left at your stable door.”

—Sir Walter Scott, Guy Mannering

Singing the Blueberries

Makes about 2¾ pints

It’s easy to sing a bluesy song when drinking Singing the Blueberries. It doesn’t have to be a depressing bluesy song, though (I like to avoid the depressing when singing about liqueurs). Even though most blues songs are a little on the down side, it’s okay, when singing of this liqueur, to keep the slower pace and 12-bar structure while changing the lyrics to reflect your liqueur love.
